The Eagle One Pro is Varla’s first monster scooter and it’s likely that we’ll see a lot of high-performance, flagship scooters in the coming season. This is a an allusion to Segway’s GT Series and the brand new Apollo Pro.

Varla’s Eagle One Pro sits on the line as it’s a light weight scooter that borrows its specs from beast scooters. It is heavier than its lightweight heavyweights Apollo Phantom, Vsett 10+, and Kaabo Mantis Pro, which weighs 79 lbs. And, it also features 11 inches road tires, typical of beast scooters such as the Storm as well as the Wolf King GT.

Varla Eagle Pro Varla Eagle Pro’s speed isn’t typical of lightweight heavyweight scooters. It is much more powerful. Varla Eagle Scooter. It is tested to have an acceleration of 2.1 seconds, which is close to the 15 millimeters mark. This is the performance you would expect from heavyweights with a long history such as those of Wolf Warrior 11 at 1.9 seconds, Dualtron Thunder at 2.0 seconds, and the Dualtron Thunder II at 2.2 seconds. The company credits the superb climb to the sturdy twin motors, rated at 1000 W each, with a maximum power of 2600W. Varla claims that the motors generate 36 Nm or torque which is enough to propel the scooter up gradients of up to 35deg.

Range

Nothing beats good mileage on a scooter and it’s true that the Varla Eagle Pro electric scooter offers a decent 58 kilometers of tested range. It is interesting to note that the only scooter within $400 from the Eagle One Pro that can outdo it in the distance is Wolf Warrior X Pro, with a test range of 41 miles. It beat out other scooters that cost more, e.g., the Kaabo Mantis Pro with a 33 miles of range. Dualtron Eagle Pro at 32 miles, and Vsett 10+ at 33 miles.

The battery behind the range is a large capacity battery of 60V 24 Ah that has 1440 Wh of power. It’s larger and has more energy-dense 21700 cells in the battery. It’s a leap from the predecessor, called that of the Eagle One, whose battery was valued at 946 wh and only came with 18650 lithium cell. Both batteries integrate smart battery management systems to preserve life. Charging the battery to capacity can take between 8 and 9 hours, however you can purchase another charger, and cut down the charging time to four to five hours.

Braking

Let’s face it, we would prefer that all scooters came with hydraulic brakes. That’s not to say that electric scooters with cable brakes aren’t dangerous or unreliable when it comes to stopping. However, if you’re getting the scooter to ride primarily off city tracks, then it’s better to switch to self-sealing, tubeless knobby tires. They will automatically increase the traction of your scooter, maintain your comfort, and reduce maintenance. Also, thanks to the tires and a 17 centimeter clearance from the ground obstructions on the track will not cause damage to the deck beneath.

The suspension system feels rigid. The Varla Eagle Pro would have benefited more from adjustable shocks or adapting an existing spring with a lower spring rate. But the rigid setup works well when handling large bumps and stops the scooter from falling off. On well-maintained tracks, the suspension feels a little too bouncy for comfort.

It is also equipped with a steering damper. Eagle Pro also comes with a built-in steering damper. When driving at high speeds as well as straight track, users will enjoy excellent stability. Overall, with the heavy steering feel, the sporty riding stance and the rumbling acceleration The Eagle One Pro is exhilarating to ride. It could also be a bit of a workout when you’re riding hard.

What Makes the Pro Version Different From Eagle One

• There were significant upgrades that Varla made on the original Eagle One to get the Pro. Here are some of the key distinctions:
• The Pro has a higher stated top speed of 45 mph in comparison to the original Eagle One has a manufacturer-cited top speed of 40 mph. There’s no difference.
• The Pro comes with 1440 Wh of power, and the Eagle One’s battery is rated at 946 Wh. There’s a difference of 52% that translates to better mileage with the Pro.
• The Pro’s tires were upgraded to an 11.25 inches tubeless air versus the Eagle Ones 9.8 inch pneumatics.
