Acceleration

Top Speed

We love the Varla Eagle Pro’s top speed, especially for its price tag. The scooter has a staggering 40 mph top speed, which is a lot higher than normal when contrasted with other scooters within the same price range. The higher-priced Kaabo Mantis Pro only hits a 37 mph top speed, while the Inokim OXO, still at a higher price has a lower speed of 36 millimeters.

Range

It beat other scooters that cost more, e.g., the Kaabo Mantis Pro with a 33 mile range, Dualtron Eagle Pro at 32 miles, and Vsett 10+ with 33 miles.

The battery behind the range lies a high capacity, 60V 24 Ah battery with 1440 Wh of energy. It is larger and has more energy-dense 21700 cell batteries. This is an improvement from its predecessor, the Eagle One, whose battery was classified at 946 wh, and had only 18650 lithium cell. Both batteries have intelligent battery management systems that ensure that the battery’s life is not compromised. Charge the battery up to capacity takes between 8 and 9 hours however, you can get an additional charger to reduce charging time to 4-5 hours.

 

Braking

We would prefer that all scooters came with hydraulic brakes. However, that doesn’t mean electric scooters that have cable brakes aren’t dangerous or unreliable when they come to stopping. The tubeless pneumatic road tires are great for comfort, especially when traveling offroad. Their tubeless design is perfect for evading pinch flats from rocks. But, if you’re using the scooter to ride primarily off urban tracks, you’d be better off switching to self-sealing knobby tires. These will instantly increase the traction of your scooter, maintain your comfort, and decrease maintenance. The suspension feels hard. The Varla Eagle Pro would benefit more from adjustable shocks, or by adjusting a spring with less spring force. But the rigid setup is efficient when handling large bumps and prevents the scooter from bottoming out. If the track is well maintained, the suspension feels somewhat bouncy for comfort.

The Eagle Pro also comes with a built-in steering damper. When driving at high speeds as well as straight track, users can enjoy a great stability. At top speed the stability does not equal that offered by dual stem monsters like the Wolf King GT but rather is more like the Dualtron Thunder or Nami Burn with a steering damper installed. However, the damper on the steering also means that riders will need to exert more force on the handlebars when trying to negotiate turns.

The deck is another cause of concern. It’s too small and due to this lack of deck real estate the riders are forced to rest their back feet on the footrest which isn’t designed ergonomically. One bright spot is the Varla Eagle Pro compensates for its poor posture with an ergonomically laid-out cockpit that is comfortable on your hands. It is designed for comfort and ease of use. Overall, between the heavy steering feel, the sporty riding stance, and the intense acceleration, the Eagle One Pro is exhilarating to ride. It can also be a bit of an exercise when you’re on the road for a long time.

What Makes the Pro Version Different From Eagle One

  • There were significant changes that Varla made on the original Eagle One to get the Pro. Here are a few of the major differences:
