Varla’s Eagle One Pro sits on the fence as a light heavyweight scooter that borrows its specs taken from the beast scooters. It is the Varla Eagle Pro’s speed is not typical of lightweight heavyweight scooters. It is much more powerful. Flawed Varla Stones. The manufacturer credits the impeccable hill climbing to the robust dual motors rated at 1000W each and a peak power of 2600 W. Varla claims that the motors produce the equivalent of 36 Nm or torque which is enough to propel the scooter upwards up to 35deg.

Range

Nothing beats good mileage on the scooter, and the Varla Eagle One Pro scooter gives a good 58 km of range tested. It is interesting to note that the only scooter that is within the $400 range from the Eagle One Pro that can beat it on the scale is the Wolf Warrior X Pro, with a tested range to 41 miles. It beat out other scooters with higher prices, e.g., the Kaabo Mantis Pro with a 33 mile of range. Dualtron Eagle Pro at 32 miles, along with the Vsett 10+ with 33 miles.

The battery behind the range lies a high capacity battery of 60V 24 Ah with 1440 Wh of energy. It’s larger and more efficient with 21700 battery cells. This is a step up from the predecessor, called it was the Eagle One, whose battery was classified at 946 wh, and had only 18650 lithium cells. Both batteries are equipped with smart battery management systems to ensure that the battery’s life is not compromised. The process of charging the battery to its capacity takes 8-9 hrs, however, you can get a second charger and reduce charge times to around four to five hours.

Braking

Let’s face it; we would prefer that all scooters came with hydraulic brakes. This doesn’t mean that electric scooters equipped with cable brakes are dangerous or insecure when it comes to stopping. The EABS stops that the brakes aren’t locking. They can be adjusted using the P-settings that are displayed on the display. You can set them between 0 and 2 with 0 being an insufficient setting, while 2 refers to a strong setting.

Ride Quality

The ride quality is good however it’s not the best. One thing they do not mention when advertising all-terrain electric scooters is that priority falls on off-roading features.

The tubeless pneumatic road tires are excellent for comfort, especially when traveling offroad. Their tubeless nature is great to avoid pinch flats caused by rocks. However, if you’re getting the scooter for use mostly on roads, then you’re better off changing to self-sealing knobby tires. They will automatically increase your traction, preserve your comfort and cut down on maintenance. The suspension feels hard. It’s a bit stiff. Varla Eagle Pro would have been better off with adjustable shocks or a spring with lower spring rates. However, the stiff setup is efficient when dealing with large bumps and prevents the scooter from bottoming out. On well-maintained tracks the suspension is somewhat bouncy for ease of use.

It is also equipped with a steering damper. Eagle Pro also comes with an inbuilt steering damper. When driving at high speeds as well as straight track, users will enjoy excellent stability. At top speed the stability does not equal the stability of dual stem beasts such as the Wolf King GT but rather feels like the Dualtron Thunder or Nami Burn with a damper for steering installed. On the downside, the damper on the steering also implies that the riders need to exert more force on the bar handles when trying to negotiate turns.

The deck is another cause to be concerned about. The only bright side is that the Varla Eagle Pro can make up for the sloppy stance by providing an ergonomically laid-out cockpit that is easy on your hands. It is designed for comfort and ease of use. The controls can be also ergonomically designed and complement the clear, large 9 centimeter screen.

Overall, between the hefty feeling of the steering, the sporty riding stance and the rumbling acceleration The Eagle One Pro is exhilarating to ride, but it can also be a bit of a workout when you’re riding hard.

What Makes the Pro Version Different From Eagle One

• There were significant changes that Varla made on the original Eagle One to get the Pro. Below are some key variations:
• The Pro is said to have a faster top speed at 45 mph and the first Eagle One has a manufacturer-cited top speed of 40 mph. It’s not a huge difference.
• The Pro is equipped with 1440 Wh of power, The Eagle One’s battery is rated at 946 Wh. There’s a 52% difference which translates into better mileage on the Pro.
• They were also upgraded with a bigger eleven inches of airtubeless instead of those of the Eagle Ones 9.8 inch pneumatics.
